Canned Green Tomatoes

What do you do with extra tomatoes from your own garden? We pickled a batch of green tomatoes at the end of last season when our garden made more tomatoes than we had storage space. So after we ate, cooked, shared and grilled everything we could we still had a bushel of green tomatoes. So, we pickled these. We love them and we hope you will too!

Pickling can be done in so many ways with different types of pickling spices and recipes. Some are hots and spicy and others mild. This recipe is made with Dill, Garlic and spices for a more traditional pickling flavor.

These are savory pickled tomatoes. Perfect on their own or with your favorite foods.

24 Green tomatoes – Depending on the size will depend on how many jars you need. Ours were a number of different sizes.

1618 Quart Mason Jars & Lids

810 Cloves of Garlic

2 Tablespoons of Dill Seed

1/4 Cup Kosher Pickling Salt
